Alison has been performing on stage since she was a sophomore in high school. Originally from Alexandria, Louisiana, she is a 1993 graduate of Louisiana State University at Alexandria with an Associate of Science Degree and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from Louisiana State University on the main campus in Baton Rouge in 1996 (Geaux Tigers!). That same year, she was accepted as a Master of Fine Arts candidate in Acting by the Theatre Dept. at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. While at Ole Miss, she was a graduate teaching assistant in the Theatre Dept. and earned her M.F.A in Acting in 1999. She then accepted the theatre director position here at ¿ªÐÄ¹í´«Ã½.

Ms. Stafford currently teaches numerous performance-based and technical theatre classes here at ¿ªÐÄ¹í´«Ã½ and serves as the faculty sponsor & director of the Lendon Players, ¿ªÐÄ¹í´«Ã½â€™ theatre group. Each fall and spring semester, the Lendon Players mounts one mainstage play production in Brooks Theatre on the HCC Raymond campus. From 2007-2010 she was an officer on the board of directors for the Mississippi Theatre Association (MTA), where she served as the Mississippi State Auditions Coordinator for the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC). Her current position on the MTA board is that of vice-chair for College Auditions.

Ever since coming to ¿ªÐÄ¹í´«Ã½, Ms. Stafford has been very active with numerous theatres in central Mississippi. She is currently serving on the board of officers for the reincarnation of the Clinton Brickstreet Players. In 2001, competing for the Black Rose Theatre in Brandon, MS, she won an All-Star Cast medal at MTA’s annual competition, and in 2006 she was named Best Actress at that same competition as part of the Madison Center Players. In 2007, she was named Best Supporting Actress at Actors Playhouse in Pearl, MS. She has also performed for Pearl Community Theatre, New Stage Theatre in Jackson, and Primrose Path Theatre in Richland.

In addition to acting & directing, Ms. Stafford is also very keen on stage combat. While at Ole Miss, she earned her Actor/Combatant certification from the Society of American Fight Directors in Rapier & Dagger, Unarmed Combat, and Quarterstaff. She has been named the Mississippi Humanities Council Teacher Award winner for ¿ªÐÄ¹í´«Ã½ for 2022.
